Jayne Furlong
Founding Member, Life In Arts Productions
Jayne has been involved in theatre since she was four, both on and off stage, and during the years of 2014 to 2018, Jayne spent her time treading the boards in Portland, Oregon, working with many local theatre companies in many different capacities within the Portland Theatre Community.
In 2016, Jayne teamed up with good friend and fellow artist Benjamin Philip to create Life In Arts Productions.Seeing the need for more experimental storytelling and challenging material within the community theatre scene of Portland, as well as working to create a dialogue about the increasingly difficult realities of the world we face, Jayne and Benjamin decided to create a company that would endeavor to find socially and politically relevant material, and explore them with like-minded students of the theatre. Life In Arts Productions is committed to discovering and exploring stories and opportunities for these communities.
Jayne is currently living in the Chicago area with her life partner Jay, and their three wonderful cats: Nessa, Huxley, and Oswald.
“When you wake to the dream of now from night and its other dream, you carry day out of the dark like a flame. When spring comes north, and flowers unfold from the earth and its even sleep, you lift summer on with your breath lest it be lost ever so deep. Your life you live by the light you find and follow it on as well as you can, carrying through darkness wherever you go your one little fire that will start again.”
