Iris is excited to appear on the theatre stage for the first time with this production of Of Mice and Men. Their previous performance experience has only been musical.

Iris grew up attending Bluegrass festivals in California, surrounded by Americana and rural string band music of all kinds. They learned guitar and mandolin at a young age, upright bass as a pre-teen, and took up trombone and electric bass in High School.

Iris is currently a student at Portland Community College, where they play in the jazz and concert band ensembles. They are thankful to be given this new opportunity through which they can try their hand at returning to some of their bluegrass roots, and it has been an exciting experience to join Life In Arts Productions in the creation of this powerful piece of theatre.

Being able to tell a story that is a staple in American literature will be a great challenge, but it’s a great challenge to have.
