Chloë Duckart
(Curley)
Chloë is a queer actor raised in Portland, OR. They have loved performing since they were a wee child, and take every opportunity they can to immerse themselves into fictional worlds. They attended Bennington College where they studied theatre, literature, and queer studies. Currently, they are an associate artist with Original Practice Shakespeare Festival, and they have spent the past four summers performing Shakespeare in the Portland parks. Favorite roles include Juliet (Romeo & Juliet), Antony (Julius Caesar), Edmund (King Lear), and Hotspur (Henry IV Part 1). Chloë is also involved behind the scenes with OPS Fest, working year round as a dramaturg and as a resource for trans & nonbinary company members.
Chloë loves all processes of storytelling, especially collaborative ones, and they spend much of their free time writing stories with their friends. They also work as a simulated patient at OHSU, something that allows them to bring their skills in acting into the education and medical fields. They are currently living in SW Portland with their fiancée, Emmy, and their nightmare of a cat, Pierre.
Chloë first began work with Life In Arts Productions in 2017. They have participated in several staged readings, and enjoyed continuing to work with the company throughout the pandemic, participating in the Life In Arts Zoom Play Reading Group, as well as being a crucial part of several brainstorming sessions about the direction of the company and how best to move forward.
This is Chloë’s first opportunity to participate in a full production with Life In Arts, and they are thrilled to help bring this story to life.
“We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.”
